Kolyn with a K meets Adam with an A

I'm sorry to make you all jealous but at 18:22 on 19th Sepember 2006, I met the living legend that is Adam Ant, accompanied by my wife Dudie who got very giddy and gave him a white rose (I'll forgive her- I love him too.)

Strange that he didn't seem to remember meeting me in 1995 and 1990- must be coz I keep changing the colour of my hair I guess. Anyway, it was so worth the two-hour wait in the queue that ended up going all the way round Waterstones- just like the tiny insects that are named after them, Antpeople are still around in their millions! To pass the time, I gave out a load of Ara flyers for the Adam-themed event this Friday (after getting permission from the manager who said it was fine but she hadn't seen me doing it!)

Despite showing signs of frailty caused by his illness (bipolar disorder which I think is discussed on a programme tonight focusing on Stephen Fry who was diagnosed with the same problem) Adam was and is every bit the star and gentleman. I have to confess I was a bit disappointed that because of the number of people who turned up, Adam was only signing his autobiography and not writing any dedications. Ah well- so much for getting over 20 years of memorabilia signed...

We hung around for a while afterwards to soak up the antmosphere, chat to people and take more photos then it was back to reality with a sigh. Mr Ant, did I tell you you're wonderful and that you've had such a huge impact on my life? I really hope it's not another 11 years till we meet again. By the way, should I be worried by Dudie asking me that if we ever split up could she keep the signed copy of the book?!
